“Gentle” toothpaste isn’t gentle enough once gums recede.
Gum tissue that is weak or inflamed, and areas of the tooth with exposed dentin, are sensitive to even what is classified as a “gentle” abrasive for enamel. Dentin is significantly softer than enamel. That’s why traditional toothpaste, designed for cleaning and polishing enamel, can be too harsh. Abrasives meant for enamel can wear down the softer, exposed dentin underneath and irritate gum tissue that’s already compromised.

Will RDA 32 still clean my teeth?
Yes. Plaque is soft and is removed mainly by your brush and your technique, not by grit. Super Paste Perio cleans effectively while avoiding unnecessary wear on exposed dentin.
Why doesn't it foam?
Even the gentlest foaming agents can irritate tissue that’s already tender. Foam is a sensation, not what cleans your teeth, and without it you can see and feel exactly where you’re brushing. It may feel different at first, but your brush and technique are doing the work.
Is it safe?
Super Paste Perio is made for daily home care. Its RDA of 32 sits far below the ADA upper limit of 250, and Dr. Jen uses the correct nano-sized particles in line with the guidelines of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS). As with any fluoride toothpaste, use a pea-sized amount and spit rather than swallow. If you have specific health concerns, check with your dentist.
